Microsoft’s AI Chief Mustafa Suleman says that in just 18 months, AI will become so better than humans that it will take away everyone’s job. According to Suleman, AI is progressing very fast and in one and a half years it will be able to do the work done on computers better than humans.
He claims that the way of working in the office will completely change in the next 18 months. According to him, AI will start doing most of the work done on computers in sectors like accounting, law, marketing and management better than humans. He claims that in just one and a half years AI will take away everyone’s jobs.
AI will leave humans behind
Mustafa Suleman says that very soon AI will start coding much better than ordinary human coders. Seeing this speed, Sam Altman, owner of OpenAI, the company that makes ChatGPT, is also surprised and upset. It is noteworthy that Suleman is working on creating a super-smart AI for Microsoft which is not dependent on any other company.
He says that in the future, creating AI will be as easy as creating a song or a blog in today’s era. According to Suleman, in the next 18 months, AI will be everywhere, that is, it will be able to do almost all the work. Due to this a large number of people will lose their jobs.
Are jobs really being lost?
Tech companies may be making big claims about AI, but currently nothing like this is visible on the ground. According to a report, lawyers and CAs are currently taking the help of AI only for small tasks like checking files. At present it has not become so big as to cost someone’s job. On the contrary, a research revealed that using AI made the work of software developers slower by 20%. Reports show that at present whatever huge earnings or benefits are being derived from AI is limited to only a handful of big tech companies, it does not have any significant impact on the rest of the business. Why is there fear of AI?
Even if jobs have not been lost due to AI, the market is scared of the threat of AI. According to reports, so far this year, about 49,000 people have lost their jobs directly due to the introduction of AI.
The biggest spectacle of this fear was seen in the stock market, when shares of software companies collapsed like a house of cards. This fear increased further when tech companies introduced such AI robots that can handle major office tasks single-handedly.
