According to Maharashtra Cyber Cell, social media networks linked to Pakistan, Malaysia and West Asian countries spread inflammatory videos and fake news during the CJP protest with the help of AI (Artificial Intelligence) and fake voiceovers. In these videos, fake statements were shown in the name of PM Narendra Modi, former Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, BJP leaders and army personnel.
In fact, during the demonstration led by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, a large network of X (Twitter) accounts linked to Pakistan misused AI generated videos and voiceover technology and filled the platform with fake voiceover clips. In these videos, false statements were also issued in the name of Indian Army soldiers and Bharatiya Janata Party leaders, in which PM Modi’s video was also included.
100 accounts from abroad
According to TOI report (REF.), Additional DGP (State-Cyber) Yashasvi Yadav said that at least 100 accounts and posts were created from abroad, especially from Pakistan, some West Asian countries and Malaysia. They rapidly spread falsehoods and narratives to instigate the Indian people. The cyber cell’s investigation revealed that several social media accounts based in Pakistan and Malaysia tried to create a similar situation as was seen during the socio-political crisis in Nepal in 2025, Bangladesh in 2024 and Sri Lanka in 2022.
Big revelation in investigation
The investigation also revealed that AI was used to mimic the voice of former Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, digitally enlarge crowd scenes and manipulate videos to falsely link them to celebrities.
429 posts and handles identified
- He also said that 429 posts and handles were identified on various platforms like Instagram, X, Facebook and YouTube. He said that Maharashtra Cyber Cell acted swiftly and took legal action against these accounts, which also included removal of objectionable content through social media platforms.
- Apart from this, SP (State-Cyber) Ajay Kumar Bansal said that AI-generated or AI-generated content was used in more than 140 posts and profiles.
- In these AI-altered videos, he was shown either criticizing the protesters or supporting the movement.
- One of the many videos made with AI was of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Additionally, BJP leaders were also shown mocking the students’ complaints or threatening the protesters with arrest, blacklisting from jobs and use of government force.
