Now Railways will solve this problem with high tech solution. Regarding this, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has informed in the Parliament that now AI will also be used in checking the cleanliness of the sheets and pillows washed in the laundry. For this, Railways is going to use special cameras equipped with AI, which will carefully check whether the sheets and pillows given to the passengers in the train are clean or not.
Bed sheets and pillowcases will be examined by AI
According to reports, to ensure the quality and cleanliness of clothes used in trains, a pilot project to detect stains with AI cameras has been started in the laundries of Pune, Jaipur and Jodhpur divisions.
Apart from this, Whito-Meters are also being used in mechanized laundries to measure the whiteness and shine of clothes. It is a kind of device by which the whiteness and cleanliness of clothes can be measured.
Apart from this, CCTV cameras have also been installed in the laundry to keep an eye on the process.(REF.)
How will AI camera catch stains?
To check the cleanliness of clothes with AI cameras, cameras will be installed on the washing and finishing lines. As the sheets or pillowcases pass through the conveyor belt after cleaning, these cameras take high-resolution images of each item of clothing.
The next work will be done by AI, which will be trained on the data of thousands of clean and stained clothes.
This system will be able to detect even small stains or spots of tea, oil, rust or anything else very easily.
In such a situation, if any cloth is found to be less clean than the prescribed standard, then the system will put it in the reject category.
One advantage of this will be that the bad clothes will automatically be taken out of the system.
How does the Whito-Meters device work?
The device that measures the whiteness of clothes is called Whito-Meter. It is a kind of digital optical device.
It emits light of a specific spectrum onto the surface of the fabric. After this the machine measures how much light the cloth reflects and how much it absorbs.
After this the whiteness of the fabric is scored on the basis of international standards.
According to this score, it is decided how white or clean a cloth is.
