Durban City’s chairman, Farouk Kadodia, says that the future of the team’s current coach, Pitso Dladla, will be clear soon.

Kadodia is just an earOf this countryhas made it clear that they are waiting for the conclusion of this season which they are singing before making a decision on the coaching team that will lead the team next season.

Dladla took over coaching duties as a substitute in February, after Sinethemba Badela pointed the way.

Under the hand of Dladla who hails from Newtown, Thongathi, Durban, City made history last week by becoming the first team from KwaZulu-Natal to lift the Nedbank Cup by defeating TS Galaxy 2-1 in the final at Peter Mokaba Stadium, Polokwane.

In addition, it still has a chance to finish in the Top 8 in its first season in the Betway Premiership as it is in seventh place on the log.

The challenge facing Kadodia is that Dladla does not have the proper training qualifications as next season they will be playing in the Caf Confederation Cup. According to Caf law, Dladla will not be allowed to sit on the bench as he has a Caf B License training qualification instead of Caf A or Pro License. This means that City will be forced to hire a coach with the right qualifications, and Dladla will return to the position of deputy.

“We will update the coaching staff with good intentions for the future of the team. This is a temporary team as we have not fully appointed the head coach.

“We have two games left to wrap up the season, so we will make a decision about the coaching staff at the end of the season.

“We know the plans we have for the next season, so we are waiting for the end of the season to be clear whether we are entering MTN8 or not,” said Kadodia.
