Preparations have begun for the fashionable horse racing event that is considered to be the most important event in the entertainment calendar, Hollywoodbets Durban July, which is coming back for the 130th time this year.

The organizers of this event which will be held on Saturday July 4, have announced that the heat is starting with their plans and preparations as they have officially launched the theme of this year’s fashion called Country Allure.

The Head of Marketing, Event Planning and Broadcasting for Race Coast, who is organizing this event, Mr. Stephen Marshall, said that they are very happy that this year they will continue to do what they are famous for.

“This year’s theme honors the nature of our nation’s heritage and the role it plays in sports, we are looking for fashion designers to use their fashion skills to come up with traditions that will highlight and express that clearly,” said Marshall.

He also revealed that tickets to watch this event are now available at TicketPro starting at R250, which will be sold out and there will be others that will cost R280 and there will also be parking fees – which cost R170 per person.

As always, this year’s event will highlight nine emerging fashion designers who are part of the Durban Fashion Fair, who will have the opportunity to promote their culture in order to highlight their creativity.

One of those fashion designers is Siphesihle Khumalo of the Diablotic Off-Ice Cotton fashion company based in Durban. He said this opportunity is great for him and he is looking to use it to promote his fashion art work.

“I am looking forward to using my art and knowledge of fashion to express my view of this year’s theme, which I believe should highlight my origins and the beauty of nature as a whole,” said Khumalo.

Another one of those fashion designers, Ms. Nosipho Ndlovu of Mnguni Empire, said that she is looking to use her art to explain this theme by portraying the life of a rural and urban person.

“Furthermore, I hope that this opportunity we have received will help us a lot to bring out the beauty of our work and connect with people who will help us spread our work and increase our clients,” said Ms. Khumalo.

Other designers who are part of this celebrity are Pinky Dlamini of Modesta, Athenkosi Mfungula of LEMFVX, Kireshen Chetty, Neliswa Dlamini of NelileD Designs, Karla Lortan, Karl Flynn of Nyuka Creations and Siphumelele Shange.
