No government money for ‘super fences’:

Joyce “Mama Joy” Chauke, South Africa’s most famous “super-fên”, travels at the taxpayer’s expense are a thing of the past – despite her huge online protest about it. Gayton McKenzie, minister of sport, art and culture, confirmed this week that his department will no longer pay for these jolly trips.

Also read ‘Superaanhangers of superopportuniste?’ Because in South Africa there is certainly no lack of great sports enthusiasts, but not everyone is privileged enough to give this support at the state’s expense.

DA congress continues

Yolande Maritz-Fouchee, controversial Pretoria midwife, is behind bars after the court found her guilty on 14 charges, including culpable homicide, after the death of two babies. The court rejected Maritz-Fouchee’s version as a “web of lies” and she was immediately placed in custody after her conviction. Maritz-Fouchee has yet to be sentenced.
