The retired member of Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Mr. Mdletshe Albert Mazibuko, who was taken ill on Sunday night, is NO LONGER in the world.

Mazibuko (77), one of the founders of Mambazo, died at the hospital where he was admitted due to illness.

Although the full details are not yet clear, the manager of the team, Xolani Majozi, confirmed to Solezwe that he has passed away.

“It happened on Sunday night, so please give me a moment to contact the family properly and get complete information. I can only assure you that he is gone,” said Majozi.

Mazibuko retired last year when the group introduced new members namely Gagamela Shabalala and Babuyile Shabalala.

Mambazo is currently on tour abroad but is expected to return on Friday.
