Thulani Dlomo, the elusive spy who did former president Jacob Zuma’s bidding during the height of the state capture years, has fallen on hard times.

Dlomo and his wife, Oarabile, voluntarily filed for debt counselling in 2020, a year after he was recalled from Japan where he was the ambassador, and while he was absent without leave from the State Security Agency (SSA).

In October last year, the SA Revenue Service (SARS) obtained a default judgment against Dlomo for R4.1 million.
