Former president Jacob Zuma.
A shock poll released by the Social Research Foundation (SRF) on Monday revealed that the ANC could lose close to half its support in KwaZulu-Natal to the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party, which is led by former president Jacob Zuma.
The poll found that ANC support in the province had plummeted to 25%, down from 54% in the 2019 general elections.
Conversely, the MK Party, launched in December, is polling at 24% – a clear sign that it is eating into the ANC’s support.
