American actor Marlon Wayans has spoken out against tech billionaire Elon Musk’s decision to distance himself from his 22-year-old transgender daughter Vivian Jenna Wilson – formerly Xavier Musk.

Wayans is one of many celebrities who sat down with famous podcaster and former NFL legend Shannon Sharpe on his Club Shay Shay podcast.

At one point during the show, Wayans discussed Musk’s stance on the LGBTQIA+ community and his controversial decision to cut his daughter off. Wayans made it clear that he didn’t appreciate the things that Musk had been saying about his daughter.

In one of many posts about the matter, the Tesla and SpaceX founder shared that his daughter was “killed by the woke mind virus.” The 53-year-old also said that reassignment surgery is “child mutilation and sterilisation”.

During an interview with conservative commentator Jordan Peterson, Musk also claimed he had been “tricked” into signing Wilson’s consent forms.

In response to this, Wayans told Sharpe: “I don’t like what he be saying about his trans child; that made me mad. You don’t treat them babies like that. You don’t disown your baby.”

Wayans also joked that he was about to drive his Tesla off a cliff. The White Chicks star added that parents should love their children regardless of their gender identity.

He then opened up about his struggles with accepting his daughter’s transition. According to him, he had to take some time to grieve who he thought his child was.

“For one week, I was resistant, and I’m not proud of the things that I went through, but I’m proud that I got there in a week,” he shared.

“I’m sad to say some parents and some family members and some people – it’ll take them a lifetime, and they’ll never get to that magical place that I’m at.”
