South African mountain biker Candice Lill radiates confidence as she contemplates this month’s Paris Olympics, hoping her momentum will position her favourably.

Last year, Lill became South Africa’s most accomplished rider at the UCI Marathon World Championships in Scotland, securing the silver medal and missing out on gold by just 45 seconds behind Austria’s Mona Mitterwallner.

Lill, a bronze medalist from the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games, has been achieving impressive results in her preparation for the Olympics, with the latest being a bronze medal at the UCI MTB World Cup in Val di Sole, Italy.
