- Online rumours started swirling about what was said during a conversation between Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift at the Golden Globes.

- Gomez has addressed the rumours regarding the moment after it caused a miniature media spectacle.
After Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift and Keleigh Sperry were filmed at the 81st Golden Globe Awards having what looked like, to fans, a juicy conversation, online rumours started swirling about what was said.
In the videos and photographs from the event, Gomez went to Swift’s table to chat. The two stars are long-time friends and have frequently been seen hanging out at events.
Videos capturing the moment show Swift and Sperry being visually shocked at something Gomez said, the two bearing surprised expressions, their mouths agape.
Fans were quick to develop theories and speculations about what was said, with many assuming that Gomez had shared a piece of gossip.
One prevailing (and baseless) fan theory was that Gomez asked Kylie Jenner if she could get a picture with Timotheé Chalamet and Jenner said no.
Jenner and Chalamet are dating, with initial reports of their relationship starting in April 2023, according to People.
This theory was based on a fan’s attempt at lip-reading the conversation.
The brief conversation, which led to significant online discussion, caused a miniature media spectacle. A source close to Gomez even told People that the star was not talking about Chalamet and Jenner. Gomez “never even saw or spoke to them”, the source shared.
Gomez herself addressed the rumours by leaving a comment on a post by E!, with a headline reading “Was Selena Gomez Gossiping about Kylie Jenner and Timotheé Chalamet? Here’s the Truth”, according to The Daily Beast.

“Noooooo I told Taylor about two of my friends who hooked up, not that that’s anyone business [sic],” Gomez wrote.
Some netizens still remain unconvinced after Gomez’s explanation.
Chalamet also denied to TMZ that the alleged incident between Gomez and Jenner ever took place. He clarified that there was no bad blood between him and Gomez and that they were still cool with one another.
