- Beauty queen Demi-Leigh Tebow is now officially an author.
- She had the Johannesburg launch of her book A Crown that Lasts: You Are Not Your Label on Wednesday night.
- The former Miss Universe said she felt true liberation when writing the book.
On Wednesday night, beauty queen Miss Universe 2017, Demi-Leigh Tebow, launched her first book, A Crown that Lasts: You Are Not Your Label.
She shared pictures from her intimate event, where she was supported by fellow Miss SA alumni Natasha Joubert, Ndavi Nokeri, and Melinda Bam, as well as reigning Miss SA Mia le Roux.
“What a night! I am so honoured to be in the presence of so many who have lifted me up and shaped me into the woman I am today.
“Whether they know it or not, so many people in this room had a direct impact on my journey to rediscovering my true identity and rebuilding my confidence. Thank you so much to everyone who attended!”
She said Cape Town was next.
Her debut book delves into setbacks, traumas, insecurities and faith, among other things.

“When I sat down to begin writing it a few years ago, I realised I had so much internal work I still needed to do in order to write the message I felt God was calling me to write.”
“I realised that writing this book was just as much for myself as it was for you all, and it’s something I’m still learning too! The message in A Crown That Lasts isn’t one I feel worthy of sharing, but it is one I feel very called to share,” she previously wrote on her Instagram announcing the book.
She said she prays that God will use her experiences, stories, and lessons to help others claim their true identities and increase their confidence in God.
Speaking to YOU magazine, she said the manuscript took months of dedication and many late nights.
“I’m vulnerable in the book,” Demi-Leigh said. “I reveal things I haven’t talked about in public before, and it wasn’t easy to be so open and honest. But when I let go, I truly experienced liberation.”
