Are the ‘Gilmore Girls’  Settings Real?  Tracking Down Lorelai and Rory’s Cozy Home in Stars Hollow

The holiday season is upon us and that can only mean one thing:

It’s time to return to the magical Stars Hollow and fall in love with Lorelai and Rory’s beautiful home all over again.

The Gilmore Girls' beautiful pale blue Dutch colonial home is as warm and comforting as the rest of the series' lovable characters.

That's why we just had to track it  down - and see whether there's an actual blue-hued home out there that welcomed actresses Alexis Bledel and Lauren Graham during filming.

And while we were excited about possibly finding a real Star Hollows to visit over the Holidays,

It turns out that the both the town and the lovely family home we see on the show — including in the Netflix revival, A Year In The Life — were just a set built in the Warner Brothers studio.

As were many of the other locations including Luke’s Diner, the Gilmore Mansion, and even the town square  and gazebo.

But, before you get too disheartened, you should know that the town of  Stars Hollow was inspired by a real life place: Washington, Connecticut!

In 1999, show creator Amy Sherman-Palladino visited the town and was so inspired by her time there that she had an idea for a show based in a place just like it.

But if you want to visit the actual location where all of our most beloved characters shot scenes for the series, you won't have to travel to Connecticut.

You can visit the Stars Hollow set as part of a Warner Brothers Studio tour. There you can see the exterior of Lukes, Miss Patty’s, and the famous town square gazebo.

Fun fact: the same outdoor set has  also been used to film teen drama Pretty Little Liars.
