Chef Neha Deepak Shah shared a recipe for Homemade Strawberry Wine that is naturally carbonated, fizzy, and full of probiotics.
This drink has no alcohol, is actually good for your gut, and tastes refreshing.
4-5 Strawberries 3-4 slices of ginger (with peel) 1 slice of lemon 1 slice of orange 1 slice of beetroot 120 g honey 2.5-litre water Cinnamon Sticks (Optional) Star Anise (Optional)
1. Make sure that fruits are well-washed and have no bruises or mould on them. 2. Clean glass jar with hot water to sterilize it. 3. The water used to make this drink needs to be boiled & cooled before use. 4. Before adding the fruit, make sure the water is cooled down. 5. First fermentation usually takes 60-70 hrs. If you see froth on top of the jar, it is perfect. If, however, you notice some other growth, that means there has been contamination and should not be consumed.
1. In the glass jar, add filtered water with honey and give it a quick stir. 2. Add fruits to the jar & mix again.
3. Seal the jar with a cotton cloth and let it ferment for 2 days.
4. Stir every day and if you see small bubbles on top, then that’s perfect.
5. On the third day, strain this mixture & transfer this to a glass bottle.
6. Ferment the drink for 2 days at room temperature.
Store your Homemade Strawberry Wine in the fridge once ready and enjoy once chilled!
