The South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (Sascoc) has announced the first names of Team South Africa athletes set to represent the country at the Paris Olympics.
Sascoc revealed an initial squad of 39 athletes at Olympic House in Melrose on Wednesday after the completion of qualifying deadlines in some of the different sporting disciplines.
Fifteen of the athletes announced on Wednesday – the first of three squad announcements – have already represented South Africa at previous Olympic Games.
