The Ahmed Kathrada Foundation marked the 60th anniversary of the Rivonia Trial on 12 June.

It took place between 9 October 1963 and 12 June 1964 at the Palace of Justice in Pretoria and the trial is known as “the trial that changed South Africa”.

Senior leaders of the ANC and other activists who fought against the apartheid government were sentenced to life in prison.
