The eight members of Deputy President Paul Mashatile’s VIP protection unit appear before the Randburg Magistrates Court (Zandile Khumalo/News24)
Court proceedings for eight police VIP security officers linked to Deputy President Paul Mashatile were delayed for much of the morning session on Monday.
Magistrate Abdul Khan told a packed courtroom in the Randburg Magistrate’s Court that he had received only one application to record proceedings.
He initially labelled the lack of applications as disrespectful to the court and said proceedings would continue only after other media organisations sent through their applications.
