After years of water outages, Johannesburg Water is finally working to extend the ageing Commando System.
The system is a series of networks that receive water from bulk supplier Rand Water and transport it to the Brixton, Hursthill, and Crosby water complexes.
The systems are responsible for supplying water to a large part of the city, including Northcliff, Melville, Auckland Park, Bordeaux, Bryanston extensions, Johannesburg CBD, City Deep, Robertsham, Linmeyer, Fordsburg, Kibler Park, Mulbarton, Langlaagte, Industria, Brixton, Mayfair, Hursthill, and Jan Hofmeyer.
