- Dion initially announced in December 2022 that she was diagnosed with stiff person syndrome, which causes stiff muscles in the limbs and torso.
- Last year May, she had to cancel her shows from 2023 to 2024 because she was not strong enough.
“I’ve been diagnosed with a very rare neurological disorder, and I wasn’t ready to say anything before – but I’m ready now,” says singer Celine Dion in the new trailer for her upcoming documentary.
I Am: Celine Dion, directed by Irene Taylor, arrives on Prime Video on 25 June.
According to a description:

Serving as a love letter to her fans, this inspirational documentary highlights the music that has guided her life while also showcasing the resilience of the human spirit.”
The singer has sold more than 250 million albums worldwide during her career.

“I haven’t beat the disease, as it’s still within me and always will be. I hope that we’ll find a miracle, a way to cure it with scientific research, but for now, I have to learn to live with it,” she told Vogue France.
Last year May, she had to cancel her shows from 2023 to 2024 because she was not strong enough.
“It’s not hard to do a show, you know, it’s hard to cancel a show,” Dion says in the documentary’s trailer.
“I’m working hard every day, but I have to admit it’s been a struggle. I miss it so much,” she continues.
Dion has previously shared that she hopes to return to the stage but has been unable to give a time frame.
In the documentary trailer, she says:
“If I can’t run, I’ll walk. If I can’t walk, I’ll crawl, and I won’t stop. I won’t stop.”
