After 48 hours of searching, rescue workers continue to look for 39 people who are still unaccounted for after the construction site they were working on in George collapsed on Monday.

The search temporarily came to a halt on Wednesday afternoon after engineers and specialists noticed movement and cracks in the fallen concrete slabs.

The search site consists of a number of large slabs of concrete, precariously stacked on top of each other. Rescue workers have been using smaller tools, such as jackhammers, to chip away at the large blocks of concrete.
