TymeBank has appointed Karl Westvig as its new chief executive officer with incumbent Coenraad Jonker set to move to an executive chair role responsible for the broader Tyme Group.

The changes are effective 1 October 2024 and will see Jonker, who moved from group CEO to TymeBank’s local CEO role in mid-2022 to replace Tauriq Keraan, focus on driving the multi-country digital bank’s growth in new markets that now include the Phillipines, Vietnam and soon Indonesia as well.

Westvig, who was CEO of SME-focused lender Retail Capital when it was bought out by TymeBank in 2022, is currently chief executive of TymeBank’s retail and business banking operations.
