Tshwane Municipality has suspended councilor Kholofelo Morodi after his name appeared in the Madlanga Commission in Pretoria.
The suspension of this councilor was confirmed by his party, ActionSA, which expressed that it accepts the decision of the mayor, which shows his commitment to serving the public with integrity.
“We fully support Dr. Moya’s efforts to ensure that a high level of integrity is maintained by members of the group who represent the public, all allegations are fully investigated.
South Africans have become very accustomed to political parties that are slow to address allegations of incompetence or simply brush them off. “ActionSA will never use that approach and, when any allegations arise, we will always act quickly to get the full truth,” the group said in a statement.
The Mayor of Tshwane, Doctor Nasiphi Moya, made a speech at the X stadium saying: “In order to protect the integrity of the institution and to ensure that all parties are treated appropriately, I have decided to appoint the MMC for Integrated Services and Collaboration, Cllr Kholofelo Morodi.
“The preliminary investigation is ongoing regarding the issues that have been put before the Madlanga Commission to determine if there is a legal case.”
