Road damage due to heavy rains in KwaZulu-Natal.
Disaster management teams in KwaZulu-Natal have rushed into action after more torrential rains and flooding claimed the lives of three people since Friday evening.
According to the province’s Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (Gogta), three districts – Harry Gwala, Umgungundlovu, and Umzinyathi – were affected.
“In the area of Thelaphi near Dundee, a man died after his vehicle was washed away in attempting to cross the flooded bridge. In the Umzimkhulu area a vehicle was washed away in the Cabhani River [together] with two occupants,” the department said.
