SOLA is at the forefront of fighting crime as the core of the killing of its member on Tuesday night in the KwaSonyongwane family, in Mzimkhulu.

It turns out that the deceased Mr. Zakhele Thusi (45) was attacked by unknown people on his way back home and they shot him in the car. The country found out that the deceased was at the forefront whenever the issue of various crimes was fought in this area.

The brother of the deceased, Mr. Zwelibanzi Thusi, said that the deceased died because of his brother’s murder. He praised the brutality as he said they did not expect that even though he was being killed, he was still killed by shooting.

“It is very sad what has happened here at home. We are very sad that my brother was killed in the way he was killed. We ask ourselves why they chose to kill him,” he explained.

He revealed that his brother had caused his teeth to slip by being a vigilante in the fight against different crimes in the area. He said that the deceased once sat down with him and showed him that he should not be the one in the lead because that would end up dragging him down the drain.

He said he had a feeling that this would eventually happen one day. He revealed that this is why he once sat down with his brother and showed him, but it was like pouring water off a duck’s back.

”Unfortunately, my brother was not a person who is easy to change his mind, especially when he has already decided to do something. I talked to him up to four times but it’s just like I’m wasting my time,” he explained.

Continuing, he said that even when he spoke to him after he had survived being shot several times, his brother answered him that a soldier dies in his job.

He revealed that even his oldest brother tried to sit down with the deceased and show him the danger of what he was doing, but he also said that he came back with his hands and said that they broke.

”My elder brother also talked to him but he also came back and told me that he failed. He even said that he was sorry and why did he start talking to her again,” he explained.

Regarding whether there are people who are accusing him of his brother’s death, he replied that the accusers know that the ones who killed him were those who resented his brother’s stand up against crime in the area.

He said that they will roll up their sleeves and do everything they can to ensure that they are mourned by Sigonyela’s evildoers. He stated that in the beginning there was a crime of livestock theft and then it subsided, when he said the deceased was at the forefront. He said that house burglaries have also been common.

KwaZulu-Natal police confirmed the killing of Thusi. He said the Mzimkhulu police are investigating a case of murder by shooting.
