THE Wounds of the wound caused by being nominated in seven races have been closed but he did not receive an award at the Metro FM Music Awards from pianist Zee Nxumalo, who received a unique opportunity given to him by the company that plays music on the internet, Spotify.

This singer, who does not care about music fans, has been announced by Spotify that they have chosen him as an ambassador for their monthly program which is –EQUAL Africawhose purpose is to highlight the beauty of the work done by women in music.

Spotify revealed that this singer was included in the program because when the statistics of the songs of artists that were listened to and played the most last year were compiled, it appeared that Zee Nxumalo, who is from Swat, but is based in Johannesburg, is at the forefront.

It turns out that the music in which Zee Nxumalo’s voice is heard started to become more prominent in 2024 with his song Funk 55 – hit with DBN Gogo, CeekaRSA, Chley and Shakes & Les, which sold more than five times platinum.

He continued to go before with his hit song last year I still love you, apike kuyona oPYY Log Drum King no-TBO.

Speaking for himself about getting this opportunity, Zee said that the thing that helped him the most to get to this stage is not to make his music the way he wants and believes in it, he didn’t worry too much about following what people said.

“I have learned that it is important to protect my place and myself, which did not happen easily because in the beginning I was always very worried about what people think of me. Now I put myself first and what I feel inside,” he said.

He said the opportunity he got now means a lot to him because it clearly states that making music in a way that touches and pleases people does not force you to be a certain gender only, but it requires you to do what comes from within you at all times, and that you believe in what you are doing.

It was not the first time this artist has been recognized for his work, as last week he won the award for Best Upcoming African Music Sensation at the African Golden Awards in Nairobi, Kenya.

Apart from this, Zee – whose birth name is Zandile Nxumalo, has already made headlines with his recently released EP titled My Dogs Volume 1 – a collection of his previous works Even Nxumalo EP (2022), Khwa Nxumalo: Deluxe (2023), and he ended it in 2024 with the title Game Dog EP.
