A case of murder has been opened at Bholotwa station following the shooting death of councilor Thumeka Bikwana, 46, MMC of Corporate Services in Chris Hani District Municipality.
It is alleged that on 05 May 2026 in the morning, around 09:45, the witness told the police that he saw the deceased’s car parked in front of his home in Tshatshu. The driver complained that he had been waiting for a long time but the councilor did not come out. The witness went in to check and found the front door open. Inside, the deceased was lying on his back in a pool of blood with a bullet wound to the head.
The reason for his killing is not known, and no one has been arrested yet. The docket has been turned over to provincial organized crime detectives for further investigation.
