Ndimande’s two brothers, Malusi Dave and Siyabonga Gezani, who have been charged with five crimes including murdering rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes and chef Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane, have withdrawn their campaign against their detention at the Bongweni Super Maximum Correctional Facility, Kokstad.

Instead, they intend to apply for bail. The purpose of the bail application was a last-minute decision by the defendants, who were picked up in Swatini, in late 2025.

When they appeared at the Durban Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday morning, their lawyer, Mr. Sibusiso Dlamini, asked the court to rule that they should be kept in Westville prison for two weeks so that they can properly complete the process of their meetings since the laws in Bongweni are strict.

Dlamini lamented that their meetings in prison were closely watched, saying: “I was lucky enough to meet them for 45 minutes.

Magistrate Irfaan Khalil informed that the brothers will join Lindokuhle Thabani Mkhwanazi, Lindani Zenzele Ndimande, Siyanda Eddie Myeza, Mziwethemba Gwabeni, and Lindokuhle Lindo Ndimande at the Durban High Court, where the hearing dates for their cases have been set in July.
