THE representative of the DA in the race for the position of mayor in Mhlathuze Municipality, Mr. Christo Botha, has GONE.

Botha, who was the deputy mayor of Mhlathuze Municipality, died after suffering from illness. The news of his death was announced by the leader of DA KwaZulu-Natal, Mr. Sithembiso Ngema.

Ngema said they were shocked by the death of Botha.

“We have not only lost the deputy mayor but we have lost a leader who worked for the people. He was the one who was going to represent the DA in the race for the position of mayor in Mhlathuze as the local government elections are coming up. We cannot forget his contributions to the Mhlathuze Municipality and his fight for the people of Mhlathuze.”

Botha was also the councilor for Ward 2.

The Speaker of the council, Mr. Tobias Gumede, urged people living in Ward 2 who need help from the council to contact his office and members of the councilor’s committee in Ward 2 to get help.

Gumende expressed his condolences to Botha’s family.
