PRESIDENT Cyril Ramaphosa has praised the security forces in the country, for protecting the country in difficult situations.

Ramaphosa, who was speaking at the celebration of Independence Day in the Free State, said that the duty of the military is to protect the country but they end up doing other jobs that affect the country.

“They help when there are disasters, they build bridges and do other works. Recently they helped in the fight against gang crime as well as the fight against ZamaZama,” said Ramaphosa.

Ramaphosa also praised the good work done by the Madlanga Commission.

“We are fighting corruption and law breakers as we will arrest all those who do bad things. Do a good job Madlanga Commission.”

The Minister of Sports and Arts Mr Gayton McKenzie said that when Ramaphosa handed over Madlanga’s commission, there were many who turned their noses up.

“Now everyone has their eyes fixed on the Madlanga Commission. When the President announced the commission, others said, he came back with the commissions but now everyone is praising his work,” he said.

He said Ramaphosa will finish his term leading the coalition government, GNU.
