The character of the actor who became famous in the game uThe bird criedMagic Hlatshwayo, has revealed that he is suffering from a disease of loss of good eyesight, and it is a disease that doctors have told him that we cannot cure, rather his condition will continue to worsen.
Magic revealed this when he was honored with the award of The Lifetime Achiever Award, emcimbini ama-South African Television and Film Awards (Safta).
This event was held for two days in Johannesburg, where artists who appeared in local games and programs were honored.
Magic said that he can no longer see well after the eye surgery and the doctors told him that he has a type of disease that will not make his eyes better but instead he will continue to die slowly.
“I’m thankful that I came here today. I just came back from surgery, the doctors told me about my eye disease as my vision is getting worse as time goes by,” said Magic.
He said he was happy that he came to collect this award while he was still alive, and that he respected all the actors he had acted with.
“Patience is the person who put him here and he is here today. I am very grateful to God for giving me an opportunity like this. In this field we have learned a lot to endure difficult things, today we are reaping the fruits of our patience. In the past years, there have been times when others said to leave this country because things are not going the way we want, but the person remained patient. Today these are the fruits of our persistence and patience,” said Magic.
In this event, young actors including Bonko Khoza, Neliswa Sibiya and Zenande Mfeyane, walked away with awards in different and important fields they have been nominated for.
Zenande who has been wished by many to receive this award for the role of Thumeka in the play It’s a problemthanked his family for supporting him every time he got jobs of this kind.
He broke down in tears explaining how he felt about receiving the award, which he said was the first of his kind in the field of acting.
Bonko Khoza thanked the company Tshedza Pictures for giving him two places where he played twins in the game It’s hot.
He said that this place has made him grow, and he said that he is now looking forward to something else.
The game It’s a problem was one of the best shows in that one as it received the award for Best Telenovela.
Cultural expert, Dr VVO Mkhize, was honored with the Best Educational Program award for the programme The nipple of the Platform which is shown on SABC1.
