Joachim “G6” Chivayo – who is well known on social media in Zimbabwe for living a glamorous life, is wanted by the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (Hawks) in South Africa after failing to appear in court.

Joachim Chivayo (33) from Zimbabwe and Ayanda Brian Gungwa (20) from South Africa were arrested on 26 November 2024, at Helderwyk Estate, Eastrand, by the Hawks team investigating organized crime. They were found with six gold stones worth R15 million.

Both suspects were charged with illegal possession of gold, which is against the Precious Metals Act, Act 37 of 2005. The case was registered at the Brakpan police station. The two appeared for the first time in the Magistrate’s court in Brakpan, 27 November 2024.

On 28 November 2024, both suspects were granted bail of R20 000 each with the condition that each suspect must not leave Gauteng or turn his back on the country until the matter is concluded.

Both suspects were supposed to go to the Brakpan police station once a week from 01/12/24. Their case was adjourned to return to court on February 2025 for further investigation. Both suspects, Joachim Chivayo and Brian Gungwa failed to appear in court after they were released on bail until the Brakpan Magistrate’s court issued a warrant for their arrest on 11 March 2025.

Arrest warrants were issued for both suspects, and photos were circulated as wanted suspects.
