BUSATHI is licking his wounds for a relative who was brutally killed, and was placed in his last home last weekend, the family of an old man (84) who was killed along with his grandson (13) in Mkhelekehleni, KwaNgcolosi, last Tuesday.

Speaking to Solezwe, Bhengu said his grandmother, Mrs Thengani Bhengu (84) and her grandson Zesuliwe Mbambo (13), were shot dead on Tuesday night.
“The female relatives who were present in the yard when the incident happened, said that the killer shot repeatedly in the grandmother’s room, standing outside. The grandmother and two granddaughters of the girls sleeping with them were shot,” said Bhengu.
He said the second grandson, who was also shot, is recovering in the hospital.
“This incident happened, the family had just hid my uncle, who also died by being shot,” said Bhengu.
He said his uncle, Mr Zenzele Bhengu (57) was shot two weeks ago, returning from church at night.
“People heard several gunshots, and when they went out to look, as the incident happened inside the houses, they found that he had been shot,” he said.
He said the female relatives were scared following the incident.
“They didn’t understand what was happening, why the family was brutally killed? They were living in fear since they were women,” said Bhengu.
With the discovery ofof this country, the suspect, Nqobani was involved in the murder of another relative, who was also brutally murdered in his home in 2024.
He said that even though Zesulewe was present at the scene of the incident, he cannot state that he saw the incident happen from the start of his stay, because he ran away to hide.
He said that at the moment they cannot say that they have full information that the man who was killed by the police is the one involved in the killing of his relatives, since the police have not yet reported on that.
“He hasn’t given us a full report that just because he was killed, it’s because he was involved in the events of the killing of our family. We are still dealing with hiding the grandmother and grandson, probably when it’s over, that’s when someone will hear what the police have to say,” he said.
He said that they do not have anything concrete in relation to the fact that his family was brutally murdered, he said that even in the incident of 2024, they kept the investigation there from revealing information about the suspect.
Mrs. Bhengu and Zesulewe were hidden on Sunday.
Netshiunda, in a statement sent to the media, said two suspects who were wanted for four murders in the Hillcrest area, died during a shootout with the police.
Continuing to explain, he said that among the murders they were wanted for, there was also the murder of an old man (84) and a girl (13) who they had recently killed.
He said the police found clues that the suspects were hiding in a house on Mkhelekehleli road, KwaNgcolosi.
“When he raided the house with the ward house, where the suspects were sleeping, they immediately shot at them. They returned the bullet, and they were shot dead,” said Netshiunda.
He said that no police officer was injured in the shooting, and pointed out that charges have been filed for attempting to kill the police, which are yet to be investigated.
