THE family of a man from Kombindlela, Jozini, is WORRIED, just days after their relative disappeared, who is said to have left for Ermelo, Mpumalanga, to get a job as a security guard for the municipality’s spokesperson in the area.
Mr. Thabani Nyawo is said to have been last seen by his relatives on June 11 this year, the day he turned his back on Jozini.
His relative who narrated Iof the country We have asked not to be disclosed about the matter, because of the allegations that a man from Ermelo, who is suspected of having information about Nyawo’s disappearance, is a dangerous person.
Narrating the incident, a relative said that Nyawo, who had lost his job for several months, had been staying with other relatives in Middleburg since April this year.
He said that since he was looking for a new part-time job, he was overjoyed when he received a call from a man called Ndlovu, who was in Ermelo, saying that he would not start the job of guarding the speaker.
“He told him that he will have to bring his gun as he will use it to guard the speaker. Of course, he went down and came home on June 10 this year, to pick us up. The next day, he rode to Ermelo,” said the relative.
When he arrived, he called his father, telling him that he went well and that he had met Ndlovu who promised him a job.
“Then we kept him. We never saw him again and never got him on the phone again,” said the relative.
We revealed that their relatives who live in Mpumalanga, saw him walking with unknown men into a bar called Monate Bar.
“When it was reported that he was missing at the Ermelo police station, all this information was passed on to the police,” we said.
We went on to say that the family was worried and unhappy with the way the police were dragging their feet on this matter.
“Personally, we believe that he should have contacted this person named Ndlovu because he is said to be well known in this area, to ask him if he knows about the disappearance of our relative. Should he have even gone to the local municipality, to ask if there has been a report that he got a job as a mouthguard,” said the relative.
We said that even at the bar, there are said to have seen him enter there with unknown men, the police must have gone to look at the camera footage. He said that they said this because the relatives in Mpumalanga have tried to go to this place to ask to see them but the owner refused and concluded, saying that he will not let them go without the police.
“We feel bad for our relative. We suspect that there is something wrong with his disappearance because he is not someone who just disappears. He loved his relatives and family, he will not stay silent for a long time if everything is going well,” he said.
He said Ndlovu and Nyawo are familiar as they have known each other since long ago when he was working where he lost his job earlier. They were even communicating on the phone, that’s why he remembered her and called her for a new job knowing that she was no longer working.
The spokesperson for the police in Mpumalanga province, Colonel Mavela Masondo, asked them to send a complete answer today. He said the police officer handling the case is not at work, he will be back today.
