They will forward their complaints to Archbishop Mandla Jwara, who is in charge of the Diocese of Durban, to the Roman Catholic Church, members of the Pinetown Parish, The Immaculate Conception Church.
This comes after it was announced three weeks ago, that Father Sifiso Ndlovu, who has the spirit of singing, was beaten with a heel. The letter is said to have brought tears to the eyes of the members of this parish. It turns out that the Easter weekend will be the last Ndlovu to preach in this church.
Ndlovu is not the only one who is “shamed”, as the members of the Montclair parish appeared, who lamented the same about Father Thembelani Ngcobo, who is also said to have a musical spirit, who was moved in the same way.
A member of the parish who is well known for music, Thokozani “Tzozo” Zulu said that after the reading of the letter in the congregation, which informed the members that he would soon keep Father, there was a big complaint.
“The members of the church did not accept this news well. We are sad because we are far away from Father. When he came here five years ago, the church had only enough people for two benches. Today the church is full because of him,” said Tzozo.
He said Father is a leader who meets a person where they are, and said that if a person needs spiritual treatment, Ndlovu is that. If someone needs an ear, he also gives it to him.
“This is the thing that made him enter the hearts of the people. You can see that everyone is worried about his sudden suspension,” Tzozo said. Last night, mothers were in tears, being told that there was nothing the church could do to change the Archbishop’s decision.
He then revealed that they have submitted their complaints to the parish’s executive committee, with the aim of them being passed on to the higher-ups, and a solution will be found.
“Until now, we have not received any answers. That is why we have planned to take ourselves to the Bishop’s office as members of the church,” said Tzozo, who said they planned to do so on Wednesday.
He said that although they know that decisions are taken by the Archbishop on what the Father is doing, but they have seen in other parishes that Father’s time is being extended when members of the church say they need him.
He said that they have persuaded some members of the church to say that they will stop worshiping if Father really leaves, he said that others said that they will change the church, while others said that they will boycott donating as the donation they make every month is about R63 000.
He said the members of the congregation have never had a problem with the “singing” things that Father did on the sidelines.
“When we come to the house of worship, nowhere does it appear that he is a person who does traditional things. He distorts the way we grew up in the church. That’s why we say we don’t have a problem with the things he does on the sidelines, we are not disturbed,” he said.
However, he pointed out that the matter was ruined when the Father helped one of the congregation with human affairs.
“We heard that someone called him to help him, then took a picture of him, and sent it to the elders,” said Tzozo.
He said it was after this, that they started talking, and that it happened last year.
Tzozo said that when Christianity came to this country, it did not say that Africa should be abandoned, he said that since they were young Romans, there was nothing that could be done in their country.
“If it’s not appropriate to do traditional things, why do Mass for the dead (in the church) because whether it’s called a Mass or slaughter, it’s the same thing,” he said.
When Father Ndlovu preached in yesterday’s service, although he did not go public, the sermon showed that he was facing storms.
He talked about how brothers should not give up in life, and he said that even when it is hard for him, he does not give up because he wonders what the people who depend on him will say?
He preached to the believers that even if it rains, they should continue walking on the road.
“Also, if you meet me where you are going to meet me, you will tell me to go ahead and go Fata,” he said.
The chairman of the parish, Deacon Magasela Mthembu, said that the process of the church does not allow them to comment on the matters of the church, however, he said that he can confirm that they have taken the complaints of the church and forwarded them to the superior.
