The announcement of the list of local comedians who will join the Bafunny Bafunny national team is eagerly awaited.
According to the founder and captain of this group, Trevor Noah, Bafunny Bafunny will be funny in a series of events that will be held in this country in September this year.
Trevor also nominated his colleague Eugene Khoza of What Now Podcast and the team’s coach Ntosh Madlingozi. The Nation has learned that the national team will start entertaining the audience at an event at the SunBet Arena in Pretoria on September 5 and move on to the GrandWest Arena in Cape Town on September 26.
“South Africa needs to laugh, so I am bringing a group to Savannah to do that. Bafunny Bafunny is the national group of comedians. There will be five events, in three cities in September 2026. I am in charge of Eugene Khoza who has been confirmed and many other comedians from this country and from other countries that are yet to be announced.”
He said that he will still put his head together with his assistant and the coach to announce the other comedians who will be involved in this series.
Trevor, who has won two Emmy Awards, will be funny for the first time in this country at the Festival of Comedy since he last performed at the Savanna Presents Trevor Noah Live in South Africa Tour in September 2023.
