Miss Botshelo Letsike, who is a self-employed chef and a business that produces different types of flour, PROMISES to leave the students with knowledge that they will not forget.

Ms Letsike – popularly known as Chef Letsike – will do this in a big event of choirs and singing with live entertainment to promote the beauty of nature, humanity, culture and heritage of KwaZulu-Natal, as well as the whole country i-Sympony By The Water.

This event, which will be held for the first time this year, will be held at Midmar Dam, at the La Clef Boutique Hotel in the Midlands, Howick, on Saturday March 7, from dawn to dusk.

This chef says that after being hired to cook for them, he thought it would be better to hold a competition as he is looking for six students to work with him to prepare food.

He says that he saw this concept as better, since this is to pass on the knowledge he has to others who are still growing up

Speaking toof this country, He revealed that it was a unique opportunity for him, but it occurred to him that he had such an opportunity to help others.

“Being in this role of cooking is not easy, so it took me years to reach where I am now, as I have a flour business with the aim of selling to people the kind of cakes they want to bake at that time. So the organizers of this event wanted us to work together, so I asked that instead of coming with people who will help me cook, why don’t we do a competition for different students from the TVET Colleges in Pietermaritzburg, who are learning to cook and I will only take six to do the work,” said Ms. Letsike.

He said he did not choose from the winners, he will take men and women.

“What I know is that they will get a lot of knowledge from me that will help them in the long run. It is not easy to be successful in this field, as there are many ways you have to try to see which one will make you successful. I not only cook for big events but also small ones. Even when I am hired, the family says I will cook for them, I go because being a chef is not only about cooking in hotels, as many students think so,” he said.

Tickets for this event are now available at Webtickets and Pick n’ Pay for R150 to R350 and its sponsors include the Department of Sports, Arts and Culture in KwaZulu-Natal, the Department of Tourism, the KwaZulu-Natal Legislature, SAFM radio and the Department of Women, Youth and Disabled.
