  • Uncle Waffles expressed her gratitude for her history-making appearance at The Brooklyn Mirage in New York.
  • In the past two months, she has also headlined shows in the UK and Canada.
  • Waffles was recently part of Apple Music’s Alpha campaign.

Uncle Waffles has seemingly made New York her second home.

She recently took to her Instagram account to share pictures and news about how much a recent milestone meant to her.

“The first black woman to headline @brooklynmirage. The first Piano artist and many more to come! What do I even say? So much to share, thank you, New York, for helping me create history despite the weather. I can’t express how grateful I am. Thank you, @amazonmusic, for helping me share this with the world.”

She expressed her gratitude to everyone who made the show possible, including those who supported her by attending the open-air sanctuary in the heart of the Avant Gardner complex.

“To the @brooklynmirage, thank you for being so amazing and choosing me! To the dancers and my team, thank you for riding so hard for this dream! Thank you, guys, so much.”

In July, she also headlined the Wireless Fest held annually in London.

“Only DJ headliner and first DJ to play the main stage in 8 years. Only Amapiano act, and I know there are so many more to come! Thank you @wirelessfest,” she wrote at the time.

She later announced that she had another show in Toronto, Canada, where the Canadian rapper Drake said he would be among those attending the show billed for 1 August.

“Toronto, we did it! We did it, I love you guys. Thank you so much for coming out and having a good time with me! Another headline, Waffles,” she wrote.

Yet another feat under her belt was Apple Music Women’s Month. They launched a campaign dubbed Alpha, including a playlist highlighting female artists.

For August, the streaming giant is spotlighting four musicians: Amapiano DJ and producer Uncle Waffles, neo-R&B songstress Elaine, Afro-pop singer-songwriter Nomfundo Moh and pop R&B musician Nanette.

“I’m honoured to be featured in Apple Music’s Alpha campaign. Beyoncé was right; girls do run the world,” said Uncle Waffles.
