Stellenbosch FC beat Nsingizini Hotspurs 5-0 on Saturday to set up an 8-0 aggregate win over the Eswatini club and progress to the next CAF Confederation Cup qualifying round.
Stellies took a 2-0 lead into half-time thanks to goals from Lehlogonolo Mojela and Langelihle Phili. They added three more in the second half through Andre de Jong, Omega Mdaka, and Mervin Boji.
Also on Saturday, the UWC women’s team became the first-ever university club to qualify for the CAF Champions League after they beat Gabarone United on penalties after their match ended 1-1 after extra time.
They join defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns in the competition.
