South Africa has still not done enough to be removed from the grey list of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), the global financial watchdog said on Friday.

At the conclusion of a three-day meeting in Singapore, the FATF said that while South Africa had made some progress since it was grey-listed last year, it still had a lot of work to do.

The watchdog, which sets global standards to combat money laundering and terrorist financing, identified several strategic deficiencies that South Africa still needs to address.
