Sharks defence coach Joey Mongalo confirmed that several Sharks players would be leaving on Saturday for the United Kingdom, in preparation for the Challenge Cup final against Gloucester in London next week Friday.
Sharks coach John Plumtree said on Saturday that a group of players would be rested to prepare for their final lunge for a Champions Cup spot, especially with injuries suffered by three key Springboks in lock Eben Etzebeth, prop Vincent Koch and midfield back and captain Lukhanyo Am.
The Sharks host the Cardiff Blues at Kings Park on Saturday, with both teams out of play-off contention, with 25 points each.
