The SABC is refusing to broadcast the DA’s controversial flag burning advert unless it is amended.
The public broadcaster said it did not want to be part of “fuelling outrage” and the burning of the flag went against nation-building, it said in a letter to the party from its complaints division.
The SABC also referred to President Cyril Ramaphosa denouncing the advert.
DA leader John Steenhuisen, speaking at a campaign event in Soweto, said this amounted to censorship, adding the party would take legal action.
