Following his re-election as president of South Africa’s seventh democratic administration in the first National Assembly sitting on Friday, Cyril Ramaphosa will officially be sworn in as head of state next Wednesday, 19 June.

The Constitution prescribes that a president-elect be sworn in no later than five days after being elected.

In a briefing on Saturday, the Presidency elaborated on its readiness for the ceremony, which will take place at the Union Buildings in Pretoria.
