PUBG MOBILE, a global heavyweight in the mobile gaming space and one of the most widely played battle royale titles in the world, has released its Version 4.4 Update, bringing a major expansion that redefines gameplay through mythological world-building, improved combat systems, and deeper social and creative features for players across South Africa.

Available until July 7, 2026, the update debuts Hero’s Crown, a new themed mode inspired by ancient Greek mythology. The experience reshapes familiar battlegrounds across Erangel, Livik, and Rondo, with transformed locations such as Yasnaya Polyana, Ruins, Ferry Pier, and Mylta now redesigned into immersive myth-themed combat zones that encourage new strategies and exploration.

Crown’s Abode is the very core of this mode, a floating endgame arena where top squads battle for supremacy and face off against Helios, a powerful centaur boss with unique combat mechanics. Progression across matches is driven by a series of themed trials that challenge different skill sets, ranging from speed and survival to coordination and aerial movement, alongside additional Gryphon mini-games that offer extra reward opportunities throughout the map.

The update introduces several new tactical elements designed to deepen gameplay strategy. Players can deploy the Heart of Fury for explosive dash-based combat, activate the Battle Flag to boost nearby teammates, or use Wax Wings to glide across terrain for improved mobility and positioning. The Laurel – M1 Garand also joins the arsenal, featuring a progressive visual evolution tied to player performance. In a unique twist, defeating Helios allows squads to recruit him as a temporary ally, unlocking powerful offensive and support abilities.

Classic Mode receives a series of refinements, including the addition of the Roadster convertible vehicle with turbo boost functionality, expanded availability of the Panzerfaust, and wider distribution of the JS9 weapon. A range of balance adjustments across weapon categories further enhances competitive fairness, while Livik introduces a new Spawn Island that serves as a social and coordination space before matches begin.

To strengthen team-based gameplay, the new Flash Crew system helps players connect with compatible teammates, build Rapport, and unlock shared rewards through improved squad synergy. World of Wonder also receives a significant upgrade, introducing a dedicated lobby, mid-match join capability, and improved tools that simplify map creation and discovery for creators.

Seasonal content expands with Metro Royale Chapter 32, featuring a PvE encounter with Helios, alongside Season 30 updates that introduce Ranked Arena improvements, Weekend Joy events, and the return of the Dinoground mode. Home Mode also evolves with new additions such as the Starfall Sanctuary Home Style, Crew Celebration gameplay, Parking Lot updates, and expanded competitive features.

PUBG MOBILE remains available for free download on both the  App Store and  Google Play Store. This update is only available till July 7th
