The fourth season of Netflix’s hit series Bridgerton has started production with a new cast, including leads Luke Thompson as Benedict Bridgerton and Yerin Ha as Sophie Baek.

The other new cast members are Katie Leung, Michelle Mao, Isabella Wei, Emma Naomi and Hugh Sachs.

Based on Julia Quinn’s book An Offer from a Gentleman, the new season “will focus on the second Bridgerton son, Benedict, and his quest to find the mesmerising Lady in Silver, Sophie Baek”, according to a Netflix statement.

“What’s striking about Season 4 is that it’s the struggle between a proper old-school fairy tale – the romance of it – and the actual reality of the world,” Thompson told Netflix’s Tudum. “And both are true. You have to hold both of them – the romance and the reality – in your hand. In its best version, ‘true love’ happens in the middle of that.”

“He’s a charming man who’s trying to find his way,” executive producer Shonda Rhimes said. “He’s very delightful and funny. I’m excited for everybody to watch him.”

In season 3, Benedict ended his relationship with Lady Tilley Arnold.

Season 4 will likely be released in 2026.
