The Patriotic Alliance (PA) has won two wards previously run by the DA and the ANC in the Western Cape.
Wednesday’s by-election also saw the Cederberg First Residents Association winning a ward in the Cederberg Local Municipality.
Maxwell Heins is the new ward councillor after securing 1 209 votes (39.1% support). The PA received 36.1% support, while the ANC managed to sway 22.6% of the vote, and the EFF received 2.1% support. The DA did not field a candidate.
