Municipalities battling with a disruptive water supply, water leakages and infrastructure maintenance have put out their hands by seeking help through partnerships with the private sector.

The Department of Water and Sanitation encouraged this to assist the battling municipalities.

Addressing the media on Monday morning in Glenvista, Johannesburg, department director-general Dr Sean Phillips said metros and other municipalities were struggling to raise sufficient funds to maintain infrastructure and attend to leaking pipes.
