EVEN though it has been rumored that Orlando Pirates are determined to end the rivalry of Mamelodi Sundowns who have won the Betway Premiership title, their coach, Abdeslam Ouaddou, still wants more from his players.

Pirates, who have won three league games in a row, opened a gap of six points at the top of the Premiership log by beating Marumo Gallants 3-0 on Saturday, at the Orlando Amstel Arena, Soweto, with goals from Yanela Mbuthuma, Patrick Maswanganyi and Relebohile Mofokeng.

Sundowns, who won the Caf Champions League at the weekend and are in second place on the log, are one game behind their rivals Pirates.

However, Ouaddou is not happy with the level of his boys and he wants them to show him how much they want to win the league.

“It is important to score goals when the opportunity arises, not to play with opportunities in front of the goals.

“I’ve been saying this for a long time and it likes to be a disease, that if we want to win titles we need to use the opportunities we create to score goals.

“We have come to play a circus here, we will compete with other teams. The fans expect a lot from this Pirates team. It is the biggest team in Africa, everyone who is a part of it has ambitious ambitions, so do I,” said Ouaddou.

“We want to win the league title, we won’t hide that. So if there are those (players) who don’t want to win the title, they will have to raise their hands and say because I don’t want to waste time with people who want to take a little stroll on the field, I didn’t come here for that.”

The coach is worried like this, Zimnyama will face Sundowns in the highly anticipated Premiership match between these teams in the league, on Tuesday at 7.30 pm, at FNB Stadium, Nasrec.

This game is important for both teams for different reasons, especially for Zimnyama who have the opportunity to hold the Sandawanas who have the title of the Premiership.
