Eastern Cape Premier Oscar Mabuyane’s visit to Sophathisana High School in Reeston, near East London, was disrupted twice on Tuesday – once by parents of pupils at an East London primary school and later by Buffalo City metro residents.

Staging a “no transport, no vote” protest, the parents complained about a lack of scholar transport since the start of the 2024 academic year.

The Buffalo City metro residents were complaining about a lack of basic services.
