Kirsten Kluyts was attacked and murdered while taking part in an organised running event in Sandton – ensconced within a suburb considered one of the most secured in South Africa – on the morning of 29 October 2023. This News24 visual investigation has used state-of-the-art 3D modelling to retrace Kluyts’ final footsteps, drawing from cellphone triangulation data, CCTV footage, court filings and a silent witness – a tracking tag she wore on her wrist.
